Rob Ryan's studio

Last week in Time Out, I mentioned that one of my favourite shops in Columbia Road flower market was Rob Ryan's shop (Ryantown) at no 95 so I thought I would give you a little tour of his studio because I think we all agree here that it is fascinating to see the living/working space of creative people...and Mr Rob is a paper-cut genius!

Rob Ryan became known for making intricate and delicate papercuts painstakingly cut by hand but his work is now available on a fabulous range of homewares like these gorgeous mugs and this beautiful set of Four Season plates - which I think is going to be a massive hit this Christmas if the growing waiting list we have for this item is anything to go by.
I love the yellow door in his studio and the big library behind him and look at these cushions below...Aren't they wonderful? They were made by his wife using his prints.

You can get some of his beautiful hand-screened tiles from his Etsy shop and gorgeous things for the home (mugs, plates, bunting, cosmetic bag, notebook, wall stickers) from us here from just £8.95 but if you are after one of his limited edition print (approx. £350) or his incredible paper artworks (from £2000 unframed), then I strongly encourage you to go to Columbia Road early on a Sunday morning and enjoy your day there.

HELLO CHISWICK!!

Ca y est! We have moved into our new offices!
I'm a firm believer that things happen for a reason and something good will always come out of something bad but flipping hell....I just wished this time I had more than 2 weeks to sort out this massive move because it was hell.

Anyway, it's done and dusted now, we all love our new space and it's a pleasure to be working in a brand new office with plenty of natural light, space and more facilities that we could think of on our wish-list and I can even take Lucas to the office.
We moved all our stock on Saturday (massive, massive job but if you are looking for two great removal companies in the UK, I recommend Trek Removals which moved all our stock and Rapid Man & Van (especially Ben who was super efficient) which moved our roller blinds.
We've set up a brand new 5 meter long packing table for 8 people, got Interlink & Royal Mail collections set up today et voila.....we are back in business baby!
And today...well today I just twittered about our latest best-selling design: the STAR t-shit being back in stock instead of STAR T-shirt :-) So yes it was a typo, yes I'm the Queen of multi-tasking (not just doing it 100% accurately) and yes it made giggle lots of people including moi...C'est pas grave...Have a lovely week....Two more days and I'm off to France to pick up my 5 years old 'bebe' and then we're all off for our holidays in Aix-en-Provence with some friends

I guess I received this today from Glove Factory Studios because we used to be in Bristol but this may be of interest to anyone looking for office spaces around Bristol, Bath, Chippenham etc...

Neals Yard Remedies Head Office

A couple of years ago, I mentioned Urban Outfitters' Hip office space in Philadelphia and if you remember it was a fantastic inspiring spaces. The place was bursting with colours, mood boards and I was aching with envy just looking at the photos...
Today it is a complete different design but as beautiful and of course in tunes with the brand it embodies...here are Neals Yard Remedies Head Office designed by Feilden Clegg in Dorset (Feilden Clegg also designed Greenpeace HQ, The Woodland Trust offices). The building is stunning, there is no question about it. I love how Feilden Clegg made use of wood and blend the company within the beautiful landscape of Dorset but what caught my attention was the work of Pinch which were asked by Neals Yard Remedies to design the interior and furniture for their new head office and manufacturing facility.
Pinch is an Award-winning company set up by husband and wife team Russell Pinch and Oona Bannon in 2004. Before Pinch, Russell had co-founded The Nest, a multi-disciplinary brand design agency with clients including British Airways, MFI, WHSmith, Rip Curl and Selfridges while Oona worked first at The Nest then at branding agency Bloom.
They now design furniture for some of the best UK furniture brands such as Conran, SCP and Benchmark Furniture (another company established by Sir Terence Conran).
As you will see from the pictures below, the interior combines bespoke Pinch furniture with customised basics to create a positive working environment that works to refect both the NYR brand and the exterior architecture and I think a lot of their gorgeous ideas could also be applied to your home.
